ELECTRIC GOLF TROLLEY TIPS

When purchasing an electric golf trolley there are several things to take into account. We have outlined the most important aspects below to help you choose the best golf trolley for you.

Motor Power: As with a car or motorbike the motor power is very important. It does not matter how big your batteries are if you have a small motor power in your golf buggy. The same as a 1 litre car will not have the pulling power up hill as a 3 litre car. A motor with 180W is considered to be a good power rating and 200W is considered to be very powerful and will cover the steeper fairway inclines. The higher the motor power the more weight bearing you can place on the golf trolley.

Battery Power: The AH rating of the golf trolley battery is very important. In simple terms the higher the AH rating the higher power motor it can power and for a longer period of time. If you want a battery which will comfortably cope with 36 holes on a standard golf course then a 33AH battery rating could be sufficient but a 36AH battery rating will be more secure in getting you round 36 holes without any issues.

Golf trolley frame: Most trolleys these days have a lighter weight aluminium frame. If you golf buggy is made of aluminium then chances are it will be quite easy to carry and fold up.

There are different folding designs available on the market and the simple folding mechanisms prove to be the best.

Golf Trolley Branding: There a 2 or 3 large golf buggy brands on the UK market and many golfers prefer to purchase a well known make. The reason the more well known golf brands are successful is because golfers have the peace of mind that should anything go wrong with their golf trolley, they can get it repaired. The key thing to look for with branding and back up service is how the company will deal with any issue should it arise. Even a Rolls Royce car can go wrong from time to time and it is the after sales care which then separates the good companies from the poor ones. With your golf trolley purchase we recommend you purchase from a brand or supplier who has a purpose built service centre with qualified engineers. The best brands and sellers will cover golfers at their home by sending a courier to collect the golf trolley, repair it and return it at no cost to the customer.

For a company to offer such a comprehensive back up cover it not only puts the customer’s mind at ease but also demonstrates the seller’s confidence in their product.

Golf Trolley Parts: It is important you purchase from a company who has their own parts centre. There are some so called ‘online only’ retailers and these should be avoided due to the non reliability of after sales service. With ‘online only’ sellers the customer has no idea who they are purchasing from and no where to visit in the event of a problem. Make sure your seller has a business premises with a parts and service element to the property.

Gadgets and gimmicks: Some modern golf trolleys have a host of extra gadgets to tempt the buyer. As a golfer you have to consider the reason for wanting a golf trolley. The answer for most golfers will be the desire to have a machine which can carry their heavy clubs and bag around. That is the priority of any golf buggy so keep that in mind when deciding between the brands. Reliability and motor / battery strength are key to this.

We hope that by following the above advice you will be better placed to find the right golf trolley for you.
